When Ray's Stations tried to describe this wine, they came up with words like rich, textured and hearty. The wine comes primarily from the Napa Valley mountains, where the West earned its Cabernet winemaking spurs, and from John G. Ray’s old stompin’ grounds in Alexander Valley. When making this wine, they decided to splash in some Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc adding spicy aromatics and a plumper mid-palate. They the wine was aged in oak barrels coopered to their specifications- bringing forward the wine’s cedar forest and vanilla tones.

What they now have is a dark, ruby-red wine that John G. Ray would find to be rich, textured and a considerable value- especially due to its fruit sourcing, quality and taste. This wine has layers of concentrated wild mountain blackberry, black cherry and ripe raspberry fruit flavors. It is well-balanced with coffee notes and a sturdy tannic backbone.
