Emily's Cuvee comes from Jim Ledbetter's Vino Farms, near the banks of the Russian River, a site that benefits entirely from the cooling fog that climbs up the river's banks. This is a crimson-colored pinot that smells like early June at a California Farmers' Market: all strawberry, raspberry and sweet cherry fruit. The wine's tannins are soft and well-integrated and there's a lovely burst of acidity that brings it all together. While drinking beautifully now, this wine will definitely gain complexity in bottle over the next few years.
